FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR THE 2011-2012 PAVE the WAY 3D DESIGN CHALLENGE


Q. Can any of the “elevated” parts (i.e., counter top) extend beyond the specified dimension (36-inch x 36-inch square footprint) when in use, even though its base remains sited within the given area?

A. The dimensions are for when the station is in use and are not to exceed dimensions.

Q. Does a chair or stool need to be included within the specified dimensions?
A. The seating does not need to be within those dimensions.

Q. Does a power source need to be specified or can lighting be included and assume power will be available?
A. Lighting can be included, but the design should specify where it is, assuming there will be the ability to plug it in. (They will be able to plug in, so to speak).

Q. Can the display be mobile/on wheels or should it be static?
A. The display can be mobile.

Q. Does the station need to closed/secured at times when the store is open?
A. The station does not have to be secured during store hours. It will either be on the floor being used or put away.

Q. Can the height be lower than 84"?
A. 84” is the maximum dimension.

Q. Can a skin care line be the product shown in the makeover station?
A. Yes, a skin care line can be use.
