Denise Waldo
Vice President, Business Development
Leggett & Platt Store Fixtures

Denise Waldo is currently a Vice President of Business Development for Leggett & Platt Store Fixtures. She started this position in 2002 with a focus of introducing fashion oriented retailers to L&P’s design and manufacturing resources. In this role she has led a team of designers, sales managers, and project directors working with many leading national retailers across the country. She is responsible for driving sales, annual budgets, forecasting and inventory management, contract management, execution of customer programs, and strategic planning as part of the executive management team.

Waldo joined Leggett & Platt through MET Merchandising of Chicago, where she served as Director of Business Development for 2 years prior to becoming a Sales VP across all Leggett Store Fixtures Group branches.

Waldo’s earlier sales experiences began with LOOK; a New York based visual merchandising resource. She was one of three account executives that helped introduced the brand to the market when the company launched in 1998.

Prior to her entrance to the manufacturing business Waldo held a variety of management positions at the Dayton-Hudson, Marshall Field’s department store group. After working in stores she became a regional visual director, and ultimately managed the corporate visual marketing department after the company transitioned into Marshall Field’s under Target Corporation. Her department store background in marketing, visual merchandising, vendor shop planning, fixture development & procurement has been invaluable in working with other retailers in her current role. During her tenure at Dayton-Hudson, Marshall Field’s, Waldo trained under industry icons including visual merchandising visionary Andrew Markopoulos , and Michael Francis who is still head of marketing for Target Corp.

Waldo’s interest in retail began in college while she studied liberal arts and design at Iowa State University.
