Veronica Romano is the President and Creative Director of Veronica Romano Creative Services, LLC. Her company’s mission is to develop relationships that empower clients to strategically develop their brand’s visual presentation. Thirty years of blended disciplines include: creative consultation, art direction, graphic design, photo styling, package design, interior design, POP design, exhibition design, and event and promotion design. A diversified portfolio of design solutions for Ralph Lauren, Jergens, Kraft Foods International, Radio City Music Hall, F. Schumacher & Co., Waverly, Century Furniture, Hasbro, The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, Clarins, Godiva, The National Trust for Historic Preservation, The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and Better TV visibly supports her company’s mission and diversified experience.
Veronica began her career as an Art Director for Motif Designs, a home furnishings and interior design company. At Motif she successfully launched and maintained brand identities for Motif’s interior design firm, its in-house home collections, and collections for licensees, including Marimekko and Ralph Lauren.
A graduate of New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology, Veronica was later recruited to teach at FIT in 1985 after the successful exhibition of her design work at the “FIT at Forty” show. As an Adjunct Assistant Professor, she is dedicated to creating innovative solutions to satisfy the demands of evolving technology and to mentoring students. Veronica has served on numerous FIT committees and is actively involved in many of FIT’s interdisciplinary efforts which include: Chairperson of the FIT Visual Presentation & Exhibition Design PAVE Committee, Tenure & Promotion Committee, Pre-College Committee, Software Planning & Imaging Committee, The Center for Excellence in Teaching, The Technology Development Team, Library, Career Services and Internship Department. She initiated, directed, and implemented the transformation of the Display and Exhibit Design Department to industry appropriate technology by authoring graphic design courses, specifying appropriate equipment and classrooms, recruiting faculty and coordinating their training sessions.
Her work has been featured in Real Life Renovation, Real Life Kitchens, The Journal News, House Beautiful, Redbook Magazine and Better TV, and she is active in community fundraising, campaigns and pro bono work, including Habitat for Humanity and Esther’s Aid. Veronica is also a member of The National Association of Professional Women and is a member of the PAVE Education Committee.
Recognition and awards include the Association of Graphic Arts Special Merit for Outstanding Graphic Excellence, International Association of Business Communicators Award of Distinction, and the FIT Display and Exhibit Design Departmental Award for Excellence. |
