Congratulations to the PAVE 2009 Student Design Competition Winners:
Overall Store Design Category Winners
Visual Merchandising Category Schools with students placing in the top three of each category receive $1,000 for each placing student: This year’s winners faced a competitive field; 373 entries were submitted, 238 in the overall store design category and 135 in the visual merchandising category. "It is PAVE's mission to encourage students to study in the field of retail design, planning and visual merchandising. The interaction and support of design students is critical to our industry's future. Macy's sponsorship has once again resulted in outstanding entries that are accomplished examples of today's students capabilities and talent," said James Bellante, group vice president, visual merchandising, Macy's. The design challenges for the 2009 competition challenged students to develop concepts in line with the Macy’s branding, product lines, and retail stores. Macy’s executives developed the design challenges along with PAVE's Education Chair Eric Feigenbaum of LIM College, New York, and PAVE’s education committee members. The competition’s design challenges consisted of a visual merchandising category focusing on jewelry and a store design category focusing on women’s shoes. |
